Shanghai
You’ll get your first hint of modern-day China when you arrive from the airport on the world’s fastest maglev train, with speeds of up to 431kph (or 268mph). Take a boat trip on the Bund or a leisurely stroll in Yu Gardens to escape the fast pace of the city, and marvel at the merging of worlds: Buddhist temples nestled within a shopping district, traditional gardens sitting next to a record-breaking skyscraper, just another benefit of Shanghai’s unique colonial history. For a shopping paradise, Nanjing Road is an excellent destination, though you’ll find no shortage of malls or markets to explore. Theme-park goers will find some unique rides in Shanghai Disneyland.
If you have time, there are all sorts of additional trips you can take from Shanghai, such as to the surrounding water towns, or a trip to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. We can also advise you on Visa-free visits, to ensure you get the most out of your trip to Shanghai and its neighbouring provinces for the minimum additional expense. Ask us to find out more!
