W Hotel Barcelona

W Hotel is the long-awaited new five star hotel on Barcelona's coastline. Shaped like a large mirrored sail, it is clearly visible from the beaches of Barcelona. With a total of 26 floors and 472 rooms, it is an important new contender for the city's most prestigious hotel. On approaching the hotel, you will be dwarfed by its looming modern exterior. The lobby area follows suit - a large expanse of mute-coloured sofas and large coffee tables lead to large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean. The hotel exudes a 'hip' atmosphere - its lobby buzzes with well-dressed international clientèle, promptly booked into the new five star in town. It has a very modern feel and is in a slightly isolated position with over 20 minutes walk from the nearest metro Barceloneta. However it does offer the ultimate in luxury if that is what you are looking for.
